I just built a system with 1G Tbird, 256MB Crucial pc133 C2 ram with the Cardex video card. This card was a best buy in several recent PCWorld mag ratings. I am using the A7V MB at 4x AGP in bios. Latest nvidia drivers and 4in1 drivers. The card works OK but is jerky in some of my videos. My other system a Cmine 550e on Asus p3v4x with VooDoo 3500 card is much smoother. I expected something better with the Cardex??? Any help appreciated. I don't see any way to OC the memory or chip on the Cardex with my utilities that came with it.

Tweak the BIOS settings, specifically the ones affecting PCI-bus. Helped one of my friends, altough his MX sucks so hard that you CAN NOT OC it... Propably has some 60ns memories...

That Cardexpert should rock, especially if it is equipped with 5.5ns memories. I saw a Hollywood version of it: tv-tuner & 4.8ns memories! Downside is the price, for which you could ge a GF2Pro...

Yes, I used the drivers that came with the card, then the latest, 7.52 from Cardex site. To clarify the problem, everything works fine except for movies. They are "blocky" or have ragged edges. I have OCed the memory and chip with no improvement. Also changed settings in bios - 1x to 4x, aperture 64 to 128, etc, with no improvement. Even the download movie clips from the cardex(gainward)site show the same problem. Still have gotten no response from their tech support. Wonder if I should return the card an maybe try another brand.

Seems like Cardex is using BETA detonator as a base...

Have you installed VIA's 4in1-drivers? If not then do it. Another thing about them is the AGP-mode. You MUST install then in "Turbo"-mode for higher than 1xAGP. And while you're at it, go to http://www.guru3d.com. You'll find a pleasing amount of pure detonators there, not some manufacturer's flooded detonators. 11.01 is the best so far, atleast for me.
