I was thinking of adding some lighting to my case, and I was curious about the added heat produced from the lights. What kind of temperatures can I expect? What types and brands are good?

I have no idea about brands but cold cathodes are the best I believe. I have one that's been on for about 1 hour now and it's still cold to touch.

They don't warm up at all.

Thanks for the info. That is awesome about the temperatures!! Do the lights hook up to your power supply or do you need something additional to run cold cathodes?

Yes cold cathodes are the way to go ..There brighter smaller and create less heat that neons...you will also need a inverter to change the current from your power supply. http://www.bgmicro.com/ sells them for only 6.99 for 12 " and 5.99 for 4 ". look under lights section and don't forget to buy an inverter ...They call them power supplys for some reason..

My cathode came with molex connector, so yes it powers from PSU. It had inverter and switch with it also. Today decided to put the switch to front panel.

You can use CC's , EL Cable, and even Neon with out fear of too much heat build up...I run Neon and EL cable, and i can leave my lights on all night and it wont raise my temp at all.....but then again..I have good airflow in my case... :D
