Worth it isn't up to us. But you need that software to get done what you want (that information fed to one of those monitors).

I haven't done this before. I read my temps etc., when needed, from my existing monitor(s).

Yeh im on the fence about it as for one my GPU is going on a vertical mount so that will be a fight for space. And paying for software doesnt excite me either.
I did forget ill have the screen size to run it on my main monitor. Its just hard now to see temps and usage without my glasses on my laptop.
Ill let this sink in more before i attempt anything.

@dfonda has a small monitor on/in his case. Maybe he can help you out with the in's & out's of it. I seem to recall he had a difficult time originally getting it working.

Both those monitors seem a little large just to display usage & temp, but our older eyes probably need to be considered.

Yes, i have a hard time reading my task bar where my temp is. My case will be 2 feet from my head so i should be able to easily read that. But as i said im gonna think on this one as i have another week until payday.
Thanks for the heads up on who to contact. Also i may not have the right look or physically not fit as im gonna run my GPU vertically.

Does it have to physically be part of the case? There are plenty of small USB powered portable monitors that don't really take up much space. I have a 15" UPerfect qled one that is both powered over USBC and takes the video feed from the same cable.

You can probably just attach it with some double sided tape if it HAS to be mounted to the case, it's only a pound or so. Then it's just a matter of finding a temperature monitoring program that looks pretty and make it full screen on that monitor.

Maybe you can try hwinfo to monitor temps? It covers EVERYTHING... but it's also small readings.

EDIT: Not trying to dissuade you, but I see you're not sold on the idea so I'm offering alternative. Do not get defensive. :)

There's also other apps... I like Coretemp for CPU... and you can use MSI Afterburner to see temps (even has a live graph).

I want it behind my glass side panel, Until my vertical card holder and GPU are fit i can see then where it could go.
15" is a bit much, I could put it behind the front glass panel but i wont be able to see it unless my rig is turned.
What your talking about is mirroring of my normal monitor or is there a way to run two monitors?
Im looking at 10" and less on the size.

have you worked with Aidia64 before? rather pricey when you have to renew your license yearly.

its possible id say, can a 9070xt run two seperate monitors? even if it would work it would look very basic.
Ive only gotten hardware info on screen in games. i promise to not get butt hurt, I appreciate any advice as long as im not looked down on. im gonna look at core temp and see how it acts on this laptop.
I have MSI afterburner and keep it running and will do so on all my machines.

Yes, a 9070XT can easily run two monitors. You want to extend, not mirror to get the extra real estate from 2 monitors.

Ill keep my eyes open for larger software my crappy eyes can see. HWmonitor and Coretemp are rather small and hard to see. ill look for that while i wait for my GPU on Tuesday to look at space inside my case.. My 4K monitor will be here tomorow and i can run the APU to get my first boot and pray for no issues.

You bought a second CPU???

EDIT: Oh, you're calling the integrated graphics (iGPU) on your desktop-class CPU an APU... I get it. lol

Sorry.......APUs are a different class of processor to most, I got confused. But yeah, you own a desktop-class processor that has integrated graphics. The integrated graphics on APUs are better than those on desktop-class processors. There is a difference worth mentioning. :)

Yes to what you said, My terminology is limited still.
Heck i didnt even know it had a GPU built in the way AMD markets it.
I like the old route by calling them "G" models.
Is it possible to run the iGPU at the same time as the GPU so they are isolated?

Yes. But why you need to do that, I don't know.

I don't use my iGPU on my processor.... never have unless I was troubleshooting or didn't have discrete graphics. ;)

i dont know why id do it either, That is new ground for me.
I need to watch some videos on running 2 monitors without them affecting each others screens to be able to answer better.
Seconday monitors are new to me as is an iGPU on my CPU and having a GPU both. ive never been around them to know how they act.

I looked into Aidia64. It was way too expensive for me. My monitor came with its own Proprietary software so I use that. In fact it was so proprietary it took 6 months to get it to work :D (they finally sent me a new monitor)

So I have 2 solutions in my case.
1) The CPU cooler displays vital temps and fan speeds one after another.
2) My monitor has a the same info. You could use MSI's Afterburner, it should be big enough and it's free. Is there something you need beyond that.

the screen is big enough i can leave MSI afterburner always showing ill just have to see. Really HWinfo has its on screen FPS's and temps in game and thats about as hard as ill be pushing it after i do my initial benches and testing.
Ive heard Aida64 can be a big pita to get it setup and running. Ive looked and read quite a bit about so from that im not looking forward to using it and especially paying for it.

Yeah I am not very good with software and the trial (Aida64) required more than I could handle. Age has something to with that.

i hated software 25 years ago while i was in my prime and building crazy rigs. But it was a necessity.
Now im old i dont even understand software let alone work on it.
I wil say Windows 11 and i use the Lite version thats stripped down runs wonderfull to me and better than anything before.
Ill look at my wallet on the first when i get paid and see if this is something i want to attempt,
