cathode help

so i ran across some old parts i have not been though in a while..i have an old cathode white bar i wana mod..
I'm going to need some help thoe..i have to find a way to secure it to the top of my case..as well i wana do away with the resistor box and wires..the cathodes are what 6v, 7v,?
so i need a 5v in line resistor right?
i have acrylic..the stick pads never work..it looks like ill have to build some end caps to mount up...
stay tuned...plz help out also thx....

Those cathode tubes require many thousands of volts, that is what that "box" is there for. You can't skip that step.
