Cdrw Problem

I HAVE A LITEON 24X10X40. WHEN I BOOT MY SYSTEM IT SAYS IT NOT THERE AND THE GREEN LITE ON THE BURNER STAYS ON AND THE WIERD THING IS ABOUT ONE EVERY 20 OR SO TIMES I START MY PC IT WORKS FINE????? I HAVE TRYED NEW IDE CABLES MOVED IT AROUND (SLAVE,MATER,IDE 0,IDE 2) I RUN MY HDS ON RAID.

hmm make sure the cables are pushed in all the way on the mobo, also check for bent pins on the mobo or the drive, if you can try hooking the cdrw to another computer and see if it works there, if you get the same error chances are you have a bum drive

does the CD tray get stuck if you try to open it? I have pretty much the same problem. This sucks... i just try to wiggle the cables and make sure there is a connection... Ill post if I figure it out!

I have checked all the cables,motherboard I need to try it in another pc. When the green lite is on (not working) it won't open at all.but when it works the tray opens and closes just fine and burns a cd great and it will work the whole time its on but once you turn it off, that it
