I told my boss at work i'd be happy to help him get some memory for his comp, now i'm not talking a nice new comp, but some old beast of a comp........... its just used for word processing and net browsing.........

Its some real old slow thing and only has 32mb SDRAM.........

Now what i'm curious about is exactly is the RAM......... i could'nt make out what type of RAM it is, but i'm guessing it'll more then likely be PC100....

I took the case off and had a look at his stick of memory... i was'nt totally obvious as to wether it was PC100..... but here's what it says on the sticker...

SpecTek
P4M644YL - 100CL3A
9940 M1/N11823

Writen down the side of the stick in small letters is....

PC58464 A5

Anybody got any experience to ensure my hunch was correct, to me the above would suggest its PC100 but i'm not expert.....

Secondly i'm unsure on his mobo to, it had no distinctive name on it, but it had this Model No. M5ALC

The main chip on the mobo had this on it........

ALI
M1541 A1
100 MHz
9838 TS07
XD226520000E
TAIWAN

If anybody can give me any information or suggestions that would be greatly appreciated..... :D ... i'll kiss you for it if i have to!! ;) lol

LOL......was in a rush earlier and thought i'd save myself the trouble of hunting the info down and ask all the friendly clever peeps here... :D

And i did'nt think it would be that easy as the parts are soooo old.... lol.....

Thanx
