A couple of downsides I see.
No SATA power cables (that I could find), so you'll still have that ugly black/yellow/red wire converter, only it would now look even more out of place.
Considering the losses you get from the power connectors now, imagine what it's like with yet another connector to loose power from.
The size of that ATX power conector cable sleave can't be hiding very large conductors.
It's not a Sparkle/Fortron or PCP&C. If I bought on looks instead of substance, I might well have a bunch of TT crap here.

Yup, I'm mister pessimism. :eh?:

S'okay im wif ya mister pessimism. Looks pretty but looks are far from everything. fewer connectors = cleaner power. my 2cents.

Well it has the makings of nice PSU. Lil on the flashy side.... but hopefully they make a good product for 100+ smackeroonies. I will admit it is really sweet!!
Lets see if they evolve this into real world O/C'er needs!! Not just flash and dazzle for the regular guy.

Yall are quick to say it sucks... Then again, for that price, it could be a reliable unit as well as lookin sweet too... Not all good looking women are sour apples... tho most tend to be.

Very nice....kinda strange though. looks cool but the price is too high. ah well i bet SOME ONE is bound to buy it lol. IMO i think too many things could go wrong or happen for it to be worth it.

this is also being done @ acryan.com
I want to see cables come out the bottom of a PSU for once. might be bad in particular situations, but think of trouble you could save with airflow and rad placement if your wires partruded from the bottom side of your PSU, especially with these removable jobs....sure hope i win this acryan contest ;)

Some people (like myself) paint UV paint onto safe parts of their boards, with low-mounted lights to show off the glow. In this case, I'd rather not just have downward-connecting or side-connecting PSU plugs, but a combination of the two. A design where you could route the cables around the motherboard and perherpials as you see fit, thus leaving room for pretty glowing paint AND a better organizational system

Ah ... good point. :D . didnt think of that though.

the concept is a great idea. Its like one of those doh why didnt I think of that things. It will be nice to see how well this model preforms and I look forward to the copy-cat brands that are sure to make appearances soon.

i actually saw this done about over 6 months ago on tv. was flipping through and landed on the screen savers (techtv) and saw yoshi show the back plate of his psu. he had it done exactly like that but not as seamless and flush and i don't think he did the atx cable just the molex but its the same thing. so whatever company this is didn't come up with it of course but like most things nobody knows who was the first to do it.

If it were a non-removable (but still pre-sleeved) atx power cable, and the rest were left as they are, that would be better. It would be nice to leave out a few cables like that p4 server 6 pin cable.
Still be nice if they at least purchased the guts of the unit from fortron. I'd bet they purchase them anyway, and only produce the cases/cables.

That does give me an idea to just add molexes to shortened cables (instead of the bulkhead plugins) for the drive cables and such. When you make your own extension cables, you can sleeve in any color you choose, and use a better quality wire too.

Companies don't give credit to the real origionator, because they couldn't then dodge loosing in copywrite court simply by having a higher payed attourney. ;)

the one i saw on tv is just the way you described you wanted yours to look like. have no idea why they have a detachable atx cable. who's gonna actually take it off? as for the guts im pretty sure a lot of review sites will be testing when its out.

That does look nice and why is everyone saying it is expensive? It's not like they are charging $230 like my PC&PC 510...Ouch that still hurts but it was worth it..:)

I agree with you there Diggrr. It would be so sweet to make your own cables any length you desire and route them perfectly as you see fit. You can sleeve your cables whatever color you see fit and use any color connectors to match your sleeves (for example) or color code your 12 volt from your 5 volt lines. But all of this is academic if the psu is a POS.

Yeah, I only buy Sparkle/Fortron psu's, not that I'm a fanboy, but they've always delivered the goods and the price is under $100 for some of their beefiest ones. A good reason to revisit a company when it's buying time again.

I don't count modding time into the cost of a unit, simply cause that's man-fun playing with electronics and soldering and stuff....anyone can buy off the shelf, but few can make a product into what they want and keep it looking good. ;)

I don't think its a good idea myself. While the person who is only using one or two plugs will benfit from it,if someone needs more than one or two strips that just adds more air blockage imo. Instead of having one sleeved molex strip you now have three or four seperate wires all running all over the case. In theory its a good idea but the original wires mase removable are better imo.

Very nice looking, but considering for the last 6 months I have only opened my windowless case about once a month to clean it out makes the looks kinda useless to me. For the modder looking for a streamlined interior that is shown off... I great choice.

good point. there is gonna be several wires coming from the psu to all different locations inside the case. id like to see it in another computer cause that uv picture from the review looked messy like you said.
