can't wait for my new case to come in... upgrading from a retarded looking inwin case (found here) to a slightly less retarded looking chieftec server chassis (model DX-01BD-420W Charcoal Black). i thought it was a great price at newegg! it was only $68 + s.h. and it even comes with a 420 watt psu. now i can put that 420 watt into my girlfriend's new computer i am building her for christmas :) she's currently running a 75 mhz pentium with 16 mb ram... haha i think she'll like her new p4 2.0 ghz rig... it takes her about 15 minutes just to check her e-mail... now that sucks...

anybody have any experience with these cases??? i figured it would be better than what i have now and i need a case for my girlfriends computer. plus, i liked the blowhole for the video card. i know that it's the alienware case but i figured someone around here might have one... just checkin.

I have the Antec version of that case and like it a lot. It has plenty of room. I use Antec smart fans modded to run at full speed (about 2900 rpm I think, 50cfm). It's fairly quiet and keeps the system plenty cool

i've got the blue full tower server case( the matrix version). And i Love it!!!. The best part about the case, IMO, are the drive racks. You simply install 2 rails onto the side of your 5.25 in drive and slide it into the case. The 3.25 bays are removable as well( plus, each has its own fan mount for cooling off the hd) The easy install case fans were also an attractive option. Again, i have a different version than the one you are looking at, but i believe all chieftec cases come with these options. you cant go wrong with chieftec cases!
here's a link to my case

Is that a mid-tower?

Kent

if you are talking about the chieftec, it's listed as a server, but i believe that it's a full. it's like the antec cases.

Wow, nice find, really good deal i think. Looks really nice, good price to. 80 or so shipped with a 420W AMD approved psu. Good find, and i hope it serves you well.

Actually these are Mid-Towers. The DA models are the full towers. It's got a door so it's a server right?

Anyway, I have this case minus the blowhole and front USB ports. I love it. It's very well put together, easy to work with and very spacious. It's sexy too!

Here's mine (pic is a bit dark I know):

hehe thanks for clearing that up... the way they label stuff makes it a little hard to tell what type of case it is. btw, your case looks hella nice. i like it :)

holy crap! i just got my new chieftec case and installed everything and my processor temp dropped 7-9* C w/o load. this thing is 100% better than my old case. now i see why so many people get these!
