HI, does anyone know what's the golden substance at one of the corner on the intel 815 chipset. I carelessly scaped some of it off. Will there be a problem? Please help.

If its just a coating so that they can indentify which way the chip needs to be installed then i believe you have nothing to worry about as your chip is now in the MB permanantly. so if this coating is on top of the chip you should be fine.
