If you want to plate (chrome) your case you'll be much better off starting with a steel case.

Aluminum does not plate well, but you can get a mirror chrome finish on your Lian-Li if you're willing to do some work. You can polish aluminum to match the finish of chrome, but be warned it is a lot of work to get past the brush finish. Then to lock in the finish, you can have it painted with a few coats of gloss clear coat.
