That will work, but there are more effective solvents available, like Acetone, Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone, TFE Degreasers, even good old Gumout Carburetor Cleaner.

I cleaned my CPU several times and I always used Isopropyl alcohol 91% solution. I would stay away from 70% because is less of pure alcohol (more water most likely). Or try one of the Hoot's recommendations.
 
Kleenex and a Eraser thats what I use. Just rub it with the eraser and it will come right off. You will never know the AS2 was there.

If you think I'm making this up just try it, you will see how easy it comes off the CPU.
