I'm having a small little clearance issue with my dfi lanparty ultraD and my Sapphire X800gto2.

With the gpu installed in the first pci E 16X spot it is litarly like not even a mm above the chipset fan. And somtimes might even hit the chipset fan and I have to move it/screw it on more tighter.

Can I move the card to the other pci e 16X spot without running into conflicts e.t.c.?

I shut down the computer.
And moved the card to the other pci E slot.
Yet computer would start up--but no monitor image?
Weird...I reloacted the card back to the orginal spot and put a tiny little piece of foam between the card and the chipset--so the card is now safe from touching the fan.

Why didn't the card work when in the other slot?
The card turned on--fan was on e.t.c., but no image showed up??
It would be nice to put it in the other spot...but for now its fine.

You have to move the jumpers on the board down, the 6 rows of them. That makes the 2 slots 8x / 8x, instead of 16x / 2x (or 1x?).

Also, I don't think the foam was necessary, the fan sits lower than the plastic ring around it.

My x850XT is like a molecule from touching it. But unless I picked up my case and shook it I doubt it would hit. So I'm all good there.

I recommend using like a piece of something instead of overscrewing one side- that sounds damn dangerous.

ya--thats why I used the small *** piece of foam.
Works nicely.

card is great--now gotta unlock this baby, and then overclock after I get proper cooling.

i have X800Xl on Ultra-D, yea the PCB of the card is only one or two millimeters from the chipset fan. But, the card is secure and will not lower any farther into the fan. to make the problem worse, i have ATI silencer on my card, coveing the bottom half of the chipset.
