Although Mcmaster.com is mentioned in the stickies, where to find this tubing on their site is not. I thought it might help those of you like me out there looking for Clearflex 60 at a reasonable price. Do a search for 5231K237 (it is on catalog p. 85). The website does not tell you that this is Clearflex 60, but it is (just got it in the mail today). The 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD, 1/16" wall (5231k186) is .23 cents per foot, the 3/8" ID, 5/8" OD, 1/8" wall (5231k218) is .51 cents per foot, and 1/2" ID, 3/4" OD, 1/8" wall (5231K237) is .68 cents per foot (as of Feb 05), just to name a few common ones. Frozen CPU for instance charges $2.00 per foot just for the 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD, 1/16" wall Clearflex 60.

They also have clamps of all types and all kinds of plumbing items and adapters, although you do have to buy them in small quantities.

Another thing they carry is Melamine Foam Sound Absorbing Ceiling Tile 2'x2' Number 9216T1, catalog page 3271 . It is foam with a thin hard smooth coating outside that worked great for lining the inside of my computer compartment Because you can cut it to size and it is stiff. It really helped get the whine of my MCP650 down.

I hope this helps.

yeah, I always have trouble with mcmaster.com too, I dont like the layout too much. But theyre pretty cheap, so by all means do order for them. This is useful info for anyone wanting to order from www.mcmaster.com

As helpful as this is, could you do us(or maybe just the visually impared) a favor and break up the data a lil? 1 line per product is usually the case. So many numbers that is plays tricks on my eyes.

Thanks
JT

The clearflex60 that the forum most often refers to is McMaster part number 5231K237, Order that and it is indeed clearflex60. Pics upon request.

before i always looked at the far right hand for prices - but thats the tygon pricing - in the middle is te CF60 pricing, and all i can say is wow... i know where i'm getting my CF60 from now on

and i thank you again for pointing me to mcmaster... i found some adhesive-backed neoprene sheets to line my case with for sound dampening  - kinda expensive 1/4" thick 12"x24" sheet w/ adhesive back is $24 or so, but 2-3 sheets should be able to line my U2-UFO completely :bday:

That is some great info. I've hunted around that site for a long time trying to find it, but gave up because it was nearly impossible. :(

The ceiling tile worked great for me. It is not that thick, and a 2'x2' sheet is just over $3. Three sheets lined the inside of my computer desk compartment. I posted the tubing info because I also was going nuts reading posts that said that people bought Clearflex 60 from Mcmaster, but could never find it on their site. I found the stock number in an old post.

That makes sense. Since the foam has a stiff coating or face, it should be paintable, buy it may not be worth the trouble.
