I am going to have 5 rigs in my home soon, and 4 of them are all slow machines (400mhz, 166mhz, 600mhz, and I dunno the other yet) and I know that I can't fold with the 166, and folding with the 400 is hard to make the deadlines. I was wondering if there was anything I can use to make a small computing cluster, so I would have like a 1.2ghz PC. I know it can be done, just dunno how and how hard it is. Thanks.

It wont work. Folding@Home is not multithreaded so cannot take advantage of clustered computers.

Also, the power required to power all those PCs vs the points it would net you if it did work makes it rather impractical. Your best bet is to sell those rigs and build an XP PC with the money - even an XP2000 would easily produce double the points per week that all those machines in a cluster would produce.

I'd also recommend selling the 166 and 400.

If you are interested in a mosix cluster, you could give ClusterKnoppix a try. It won't help your folding though.
