CMOS Battery

I have been working on an old computer and the CMOS battery died. Now I replaced it over and over and over again. It still won't retain the settings and whenever I turn it off it loses the power. Now I have tried everything and I need help.

You can buy external batteries....or probly pick up one from a local computer store. I always kept them from bad mobos.....just a thought

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere that is draining the battery.

Ya know, I have one at home that does just that same thing. Let me tinker with it (an oldie but goodie) and i'll post when i figure it out.
