The COD4 server I usually play on got hit pretty hard this weekend with players using hacks. Some of which PB wasn't detecting. We had our suspicions though, you don't come on to this server and rack up 70+ kills per game, as most of the players are VERY good.
So we started checking the ban lists.... And sure enough we found their names on the PB ban lists.
So, what shoudl you do if you suspect a hacker? Well first off, just because a player is doing well doesn't mean he's a hacker. There are some REALLY good players out there, so just cause you are getting owned, don't immediately suspect a hacker.
Things to look for:
1) players seemingly knowing where everyone is on the map. Could be evidence of a wallhack/ESP hack. For instance, lets say you just killed the guy, and not a second later you are killed by him from his spawn point halfway across the map, and this happens more than once....
2) excessive kills through walls. (especially headshots)
3) players shooting in directions their avatar is not pointed.
4) MASSIVE kill counts. we're talking 60+ consistantly againt GOOD players.
Ok so you suspect someone, GO HERE or HERE
Oh, don't always go by player names either: Get their GUID by....
SHIFT + ~
type in /pb_plist
Search for that players name. If you get a hit, report it to your server admin. If the player is a REAL douche, call him out in chat after the match, and reference him being caught before.
