Cold boot with ddr ram?

From reading the ocworkbench forum...people are having this cold boot problem when they switch their sdr ram with a stick of ddr ram...did anyone get this problem here?...i'm planning to switch my 256 sdram with a 256 ddr ram...is there anyway of fixing this problem?

Also, is crucial ddr ram much better than generic...its around like 60 cdn dollars more for the crucial ram...

Crucial is better, and worth the money.

I did find that my mobo overclocked better with SDRAM than with DDR, though. I don't know why.
