I was having problems this weekend with dropped packets. All weekend. Now I know why :D

Yeah I am looking forward to my upgrade as well, although honestly I would prefer it if they doubled our upload pipe instead.

2887/247 (had to use tinyurl.com to get this to link properly)

They upgraded upload speeds from 128k to 256k a while ago.

Wow! I just tested before and after, to see how much of a difference I got.

Tested at dslreports.com:
Before: 1768 down - 287 up AND 1730 down - 288 up
After: 3179 down - 241 up AND 3172 down - 243 up

Your upload has lowered - maybe the service is getting shot from all the extra traffic :D

Does anyone know if Adelphia is doing this?? I wanted comcast but Im stuck here with Adelphia with a measly 110K up (I have never gotten 128up). My friend just got adelphia and hes like 15miles away and he got 256k up for the same plan I got!!!??!

I think all the cable companies are upgrading their services but it takes time. I was at 128k up for a year before they upgraded to 256k (251k was the best I saw, there's some overhead traffic). After 2 years, they doubled dload speeds. The only time I saw greater than 3mbps was at my friend's house in CA where he had Adelphia and his speeds were about 4mbps up/384k down.

LMAO! I just ran a speed test, I had my modem restart over night and I got 244k up (tested @ pcpitstop) and with the 1MB DL test I got 2.7Mbps, I had 3.5Mbps oh well. Upload is more important with my online gaming and when I need to upload pics to my review site. :D

Bobby- I envy your friend getting 4Mbps/384k up. My max EVER in 2yrs with adel. was 3.7Mbps/100k (upload went down with that DL speed boost, me=annoyed since I wanted better up)

If they had emailed me I wouldnt have known since I ditched my adelphia email accounts since a week after I got them 2yrs ago I was getting 10+ spam aday and it was getting more and more, even more than my Hoitmail!

i hope comcast ups my up stream bandwidth soon, because $65 a month is a joke for 2Mbps/256Kbps, when i first got cable i was only paying $20 a month and was getting 7Mbps/128Kbps

I have comcast and its still 1800/256 here in st. paul mn.....must be because we are on the old AT&T system...blaaaaaahhhhh:(

Comcast is doing a lot of work with the old AT&T network so I think the upgrades should be fairly soon. I've already heard a lot of ex-AT&T-now-Comcast customers saying that their service improved after the cut over to Comcast's network.

Just did a test, I really wish comcast would make our upload speeds faster. Optimum Online is around 1000kbps upload, 4000kbps download, and they charge the same price.
To bad i didnt move one town south of me then I would have Optimum Online

2003-12-25 16:34:26 EST: 2955 / 242

Your download speed : 2955717 bps, or 2955 kbps.

Your upload speed : 242424 bps, or 242 kbps.

Thanks Comcast for increasing my speeds a bit....but I would prefer to have fewer connection problems and better tech support on those occasions when I do have problems.

I fondly remember the old MediaOne days..........Oh well- can't stop "progress".

That's pretty good for DSL.
