Yes, someone tell microcenter to start building shops in TN.

I wouldn't buy a Q6600 nowadays, it's just too darned old. It's a nice chip, but the 45nm process is just as efficient as the 65nm process is indestructible.

You have to think of your mobo tho. I think I would be much more comfortable buying a 65nm Quad than a 45mn for that board. I wouldn't be suprised if your board would be able to take a 45mn Quad, but overclocking it? Stick with the good old Q6600 for that board.
 
I used to have an e6300, the original conroe.. At its peak performance in my hands (about 3750mhz) I could get it to compete with my e6600. They traded blows, but the only real thing the e63 beat it at was memory stuff, because the fsb was so ramped up. Ive never had a 45nm quad, but I did have a couple of q66's. I would say either the q66 or q96 would stomp that 6300 in just about everything, with just the cache alone heheh.
