Welcome to the forums, on to your question:

First you don't have to list every single little detail about the components you're getting. Example, the Asus P4G8X, maybe list that it is a Granite Bay chip for people not familiar with Intel chipsets, but you don't have to list that it has "CrashFree BIOS." If you're going to list components your buying just list relavant information.

As for the system let me ask if you're going to overclock your system or not? If you're not then everything is fine. Its a nice system. If you are going to overclock though I would change a couple of things. First, I would get a higher speed memory like PC2700 or PC3000 for a granite bay board. PC3200 or PC3500 might be overkill unless your goal is to run your memory at extremely low timings. Also where do you live? Do you have a Fry's or PC Club next to you? If you do you might want to pick up a MultiVID 2.53GHz or 2.4GHz chips. These chips are currently the Intel overclocking champs, see my sig. Also you might want to invest in a good after market heatsink to keep your CPU nice and cool. One more thing is I would get either a Maxtor or Western Digital 8MB hard drive instead of the IBM you have listed.

Finally, before you order from any online store you might want to check how they rated at Reseller Ratings. Some sites that sell stuff cheap aren't that good with customer service.

just got my ASUS P4G8X deluxe for under $200...
great board...

and for the proc...
if you're into overclocking get a 2.4B SL6RZ or 2.53 SL6S2
a lot cheaper than 2.8 and you can use the money for a memory

and for memory...
get at least a PC2700. if budget is ok get PC3200

nice setup. the mobo you picked is great. i have the p4g8x and it is the best that i have ever used. for a cpu i would get a multi-vid 2.4 and start overclocking. go for the best ram that you can. that will help your overclock and even if you dont overclock then you can set your ram's cas latency to 1.5:D

Good system.

Check www.pricewatch.com for a list of places selling the parts you want. Then use www.resellerratings.com to make sure the merchant is decent.

The speakers you have listed seem very wimpy. 45Wrms max for a 5.1 system isn't very much. For like $175, you get the Klipsch 4.1 speakers, which have 400Wrms of crisp power :D . I have them and I love 'em.

You should get at least PC2700 memory since your mobo will support the extra memory bandwidth. I would also reccomend CL2.0 instead of CL2.5. The extra performance is worth the little bit of extra money.

I prefer AMDs processors over Intel. Perhaps you should consider an AMD system. But if you wanna go Intel then go for it.
