What do you think about computer shows in your area? There in one here in Richmond, VA. All I bought was a Subwoofer with a built-in amp for $25 four years ago. Do you think prices are OK for these shows. Don't forget about admission fees.

It can vary widely, and educated shopping is a MUST!

Often, online vendors are lower price-wise and more reliable if a problem develops, but there are sometimes great deals to be found as well.

The trick for ME is to have a few things in mind for purchase before I go and know what the going rates are for the products.

I also prefer finding show vendors that have brick and mortar shops somewhere- less likely to be issues, although they often will have prices a bit higher than the show-only type vendors.

Buyer beware is the best rule of thumb. ;)

Yeah I pretty aware of online prices. I guess-I know, what I want. But I wonder too if bargaining is OK.

Personally, I hate going to the local supermarket and not being able to haggle for price. Cheap SOB that I am. :)

I almost ALWAYS haggle- the worst that can happen is that they say No, and you might just be able to save a few bucks. :)

Haggling is a must at shows...vendors with the same items compete price-wise with each other and it is quite often easy to get a better deal on what you need.

I have found that the usual admission fee($5) isn't really a factor because most items I look for specifically are not locally found at a cheaper price.
