Can i do this.... I have onboard sound on the MB, would i still be able to hook it up to my surround sound stereo? Would make gaming much more fun til i get a decent sound sys for my computer

I'm sure you could hook it up, but unless your board actually supports surround sound, I guess it'd be the same sounds being played on all your speakers, differences probably being left and right sounds only. Still, it is better than having sound coming from two speakers right in front of you :)
 
I'll move things around tomorrow when i'm rested. Just got back from the football game ( lead trumpet ) and i'm tired. I don't wanna mess any thing up and get frustrated trying to figure it out.
 
Yeah. I did this back in '95. I got an old headphone-type cable and put the copper wires into my receiver (stereo) and the mini-din into my sound card. Pretty boomin' sound.
