Hey all. I have a custom water cooling loop that I made in 2006....... yup... almost 10 years ago.
This loop has serviced my Intel e6700 dual core from 2.6 to 4.2Ghz, then my i7-920 from 2.66 to 4.2Ghz (using the Asus P6T motherboard which actually had bracket holes for BOTH 1366 and 775!), and now my 5820k from 3.3 to 4.7Ghz!
I didn't want to bother with changing such a nice loop, so I visited my ACE hardware store and spent some time brainstorming. I spent less than FIVE dollars getting the hardware I needed to jury rig my old 775 bracket to fit the 2011-v3 socket.
The pictures are pretty self explanatory, so take a look, and let me know if you have any questions on anything specific! (the motherboard in the pics is the ASUS x99 PRO)
I screwed ONE of the holes in the normal way - and then angled the bracket a bit to fit my jury rig. Using spacers to keep the metal bits away from the board itself.
