Well for my 1337'th post I thought i'd post this idea I thought of yesterday...

My mom was in and she was looking at both of my monitors. She thought it was amazing that I could drag windows between the "computers" :p

But anyways I said if I had monitors all around me I could spin a window all the way around... that gave me an idea.

What if someone was to make a medium sized circle desk, that you could sit in the center of? Then, you could have LCD's all around you. Then for your keyboard/mouse, you could use a tray type of thing we have now, but mount it to a track under the desk so the whole wireless keyboard/mouse setup could spin around.

Then you just add 1 back section of the desk that can raise up so you can get out... add a good office chair... and a computer supporting a ton of monitors... and you got a heck of a workstation. Could be working on a webpage, turn around and be downloading some files. If you felt like it, you could turn off all of the lights and start up some matrix code screensaver or something... or if you happen to make screensavers you could make cars on the screen race around in a circle :p

If I had the space/money/and a shop I would love to do it :)

BTW don't forget the 7.1 surround sound and EL wire that borders the desk.

that would be interesting, but very expensive

now you cant make any more posts or else you will no longer be leet! :D

Fun idea...but you can't go from your far left monitor to your far right monitor can you? If I move something to the extreme left of my single, it doesn't appear on the right side.

I've never personally experienced dual monitors, but I'm just pointing out a possible flaw.

I've seen some insane Flight sim monitor setups before involving upto 12 monitors.

I'm not sure exactelly what you mean... like say if you had 5 monitors....
1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

If you moved it to the far left side (off the screen) of monitor 1 you woulden't see it comming back on the right side of monitor 5?

If that's what you mean, that is just a setting.... you can do it on a singal monitor too... you make a window go offscreen it just starts comming back on the other side. In this case, the other monitor (because the computer treats it like 1 freakin huge desktop).

This idea would be even better using Ultramon. I usually run 3 monitors and it will put a taskbar on teach monitor, and the apps open on that screen will show only in that taskbar.

The Matrox G450 X4 will support 4 monitors Specs are:

>Product Description Matrox Multi-Monitor Series G450 X4 - graphics adapter - MGA G450 - 128 MB
>Device Type Graphics adapter
>Enclosure Type Plug-in card
>Interface Type PCI
>Graphics Processor / Vendor 4 x Matrox MGA G450
>RAMDAC Clock Speed 360 MHz
>Video Memory Installed ( Max ) 128 MB - DDR SDRAM
>Video Output 2048 x 1536 / 85 Hz - 32-bit color
>Max Monitors Supported 4
>Compliant Standards FCC Class B certified, CE, FCC Class A certified, CSA, VCCI
>System Requirements Linux, Microsoft Windows 2000 / NT4.0, Microsoft Windows XP

Cool but at $650 plus the cost of additional monitors is too much for me, Plus it is PCI, I'd rather have AGP or PCI-E

I dont know I think all those monitors could get overwhelming. But the idea is pretty intriguing, I have long pondered the idea of multiple monitors. Nice 1337 post ;)

Hahah, at first I thought that was a joke site made to look like microsoft, then I saw the Microsoft url. :-D
