Can anyone enlighten me on this subject...in other words...where do I get a GOOD one at? Does anyone realize the potential of a kick *** 2 phase thermosyphon (heatpipe)? OMG superhigh powered peltiers...kcik ***, and make it to where the heat sink for the pipe would be external to the case, and it be a fat *** one...with killer fans...OH WOW...I must HAVE.... }>

What timing!
Maximum PC magazine has an article which describes how to build your own heat pipe. It's in the current (January '01) issue on page 64. It includes a complete tools and materials list, including sources for the components. There are also step-by-step instructions on how to assemble and install your creation. It may be posted on their site at:

Good Luck

DOH..they don't have anything on their web site about it at ALL... :(

Na, that one you are speaking of, I would not even waste my money on that one. If you were to get one of those 2 foot tall, fat daddy 2 phase heatpipes...those are the ones that I am wanting to come across. It needs a 90 degree cpu attachment though, since everthing is going back to that small horizontal square type config. I want it to come out of the top of the case, so that I can attach a heat sink to it. Probably would have the heatsink in a tube like thing, so I could duct A/C air though it, and some fans. I would most definatly have a TEC device of some type, a high powered one. It takes high tempatures to "start" the reaction, but once started...its supposed to kick major ***. It's almost impossible to find any "reliable" information on it though..stupid internet...we went from not having enough information to having way too MUCH information. Oh well, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

youd definetly need a peltier to get a high enough temp to get it really pumping seems like it would be touhg to make one in your kithcen though ,,I gotta see this :p

Does anyone have a transcript or scanned photocopy of this heat pipe article for those of us who don't have a library that carries the magazine? The article isn't on the web site.
