Could anyone tell me a little about this A64...

Hey guys, I'm thinking of upgrading to a OC'ed A64 rig. I was thinking about getting a A64-2800+ 754 512k from komplett.co.uk (I live in the UK) and they give the "manufacturers part number" as: ADA2800AEP4AX

Could someone who knows a little about the different steppings just tell me a little about this CPU, i've read some of Hitechjb1's fantastic A64 posts and have a basic idea but it'd be nice if I had someone else's opinion.

I'd like to get a 1mb 3000+ ideally but I can't find anywhere in the UK that will sell them. If theres anyone out there that would be willing to buy me one and mail it to me please please PM me, i'd be very appreciative.

That chip is good, its a NewCastle CG revision, it will overclock very well!

What is CG Revision?

search for "A64 101" by Gautam or check the AMD forums for it and an article by Hitechjb. They answer lots of questions about the A64. Also i'd go for 3000+ as they seem to overclock really well (many are hitting high 2.4's or low, low 2.5's)

Like the P4s have the C1 and D0 steppings this is the same logic, C0 is a revision and CG is the best one out right now
