Like the thread title says, could this be possible? The AthlonMP 2800+ is the first CPU of the server CPU's based upon the Barton core and features a 266MHz FSB and runs at 2133MHz.

I mean like, in a year from now, if I went to the store and slapped one of these things in, it would show up as a full blown 2133MHz CPU right?

My BIOS knows it's a 1700 but sandra says it's a 2600 based on the core GHz. That 2800 ought to be much cheaper in a year too. You can also push the fsb up as long as you keep the PCI within 10% of spec and get a little O/C out of that 2800. Then you'd have a 3000+.
