Hi....been lurking around looking for info to help me build my first system.

I'm going to get a Epox 8k3a+ board and a Athlon 1800 xp...my question is on what heatsink/cpu cooler to get. I want to get one around $20-$25 range. Should I get the Thermaltake Volcano 7 or the Millennium Glaciator 1 or 2? Or can you suggest another one? I heard there was some closeness on the epox board, will these fit fine?

I'm going to use Artic Silver III too.

Thank you for any suggestions you can give.

If you have the $$$ get either a Alpha Pal8045 or a Swiftech MCX460 (or whatever the model is that has a 80mm fan)...
The thermalright AX-7 is also another great HSF and is only $30.

I am currently using a PAL8045 on a 8k3a+ (same thing as your board but w/ raid) and it hits a capacitator but it does no damage to it so it is fine.

If you get either the Alpha or Swifty, you can use a low CFM Fan to do some quiet cooling, if you get the AX-7, it is highly recommended that you use a 40+cfm fan.

EDIT: Definetly dont get any thermaltake products (even though i heard volcano7+ was OK), generally they all are pretty bad... especially the plane volcano 7.... Glaciator 2 is pretty good but nothing in cooling and in noise compared to the three mentioned above.
