The CPU fan plug on the mobo seems to have some sort of problem, it's only works at times. The temp was getting close 50c so I sut the thing off. I plugged the fan into the chassis plug and it runs fine, the only problem I see is the RPM's seem to very strange. Is this safe to use like this? I am running a P III 500 at 620 and the temp runs around 35c the way i'm set up.

either in your BIOS or in the control panel (under power management) there should be something that asks you if you want to run the fan all of the time. Like mine can be set to turn on/off at a certain temp, and a certain rpm-maybe yours is the same-mine is both in my BIOS and in my control panel Check it out.

I put the old P III heatsink and fan back on and it works fine, crap, should have tried that first. The Globalwin is new but must be a dud! I guess you get one every now and then. With the 500 at 620 using the P III cooler is runs about 40c, should be able to live with that.
