I have an X58 system, and I'm actually quite happy with my overclock, but I'd like to try and push it a little further without voltage increases on Vcore and QPI just to see if I can do it.
I seem to have managed to lower my Vcore voltage one notch just by increasing my CPU Differential Amplitude to 800mv, so that made me curious enough to explore the other overclocking options I have at my disposal.
Anybody from the X58 crowd out there have any luck fiddling around with the clock skew options? Or is that largely a waste of time? I've searched around, and I can't seem to find anything substantial about people's results when applying clock skews.

My o/c settings so far:
BCLK: 205
Multiplier: 21
Frequency: 4.3ghz
Vcore: 1.375
QPI: 1.35
CPU Differential Amplitude: 800mv

From how it's described, the clock skew options sounds like it may be quite useful when trying to reach for BCLKs over 200mhz, so it could prove useful.

I believe it modifies peaks in the amplitude to make sure they still register as "1" when they're just too quick to make it all the way up.
Subscribed.

I'm assuming you have 920 since you have 21x multi? I had(have) one, but it would refuse to do anything higher than 191bclk. Xeon 5670 fixed that and I can do almost 220bclk now, and it doesn't require any other tweaks other than regular stuff.
Mobo is Asus p6t delivery v1.

I guess I should've mentioned this in the original post, but no, I'm running a Xeon W3690. I have tried running a lower BCLK and higher multiplier, but I seem to remember getting better results with the settings I'm currently running. I have a pretty good understanding of what CPU Differential Amplitude and the Clock Skews do, but I'm more curious about how effective the Clock Skew options are in stabilizing an overclock.
