hi,
i have a p4 [email protected] with vcore 1.62 and it is at 36oC standing and 42oC while playing games, prime95, etc...(not at the same time, mind u )
well the cooling i am using is the standard hsf that came with the p4.... i know
i have not tried raising the fsb any higher so far, just because i have not got around to it, but what i want to know is if i increase the mhz to lets say 3.5 or 3.6 and that is as far as i can get with it being stable with the stock hsf, well if i spend £400 on better cooling how would i know i can get more out of the cpu? i mean what happens if the limit of the cpu is 3.6Ghz, then i have just wasted £400.
so is there any way for me to find out what the max is or anything else i could do just to make sure i do have more mhz left in the cpu if i get better cooling?
thanks for your help
