CPU question...do i have the XP2600 or XP2500..

I have the XP2600+ (AXDA2600DKV4D) Barton. Which i have on a KT3 Ultra2 mobo. Latest bios, mulitplier set to auto, FSB@166. Yet when i ran WCPUID it reads it as a XP2500+...is this an AMD goof up...or do i actually have a 2500 labeled as a 2600? Any ideas as to why this is? Thanks...

2500+ = [166] x 11
2600+ = [166] x 11.5

There are also T-Bred and Thorton 2600+s.

What was the default speed of your cpu when you first installed it?

XP2600+ Barton = 1.91ghz (11.5x166)
XP2500+ Barton = 1.83ghz (11x166)

You should have seen this in the bios or wcpuid or CPUZ when you first fired up your system.

Curious......what exactly is Hard Locked?
