Well I was thinking of upgrading my cpu, and was wondering what everyone thought was the best route. Currently I have an Abit SR7-8X, which only supports up to 200mhz fsb (800 fsb cpu). Running a 2.0A at 2666MHZ for the last 2 years or so. Runs pretty well.
I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2.8/3.06 running at 533 fsb, so I can overclock it a bit. From what I read the 533 mhz fsb cpus, don't overclock as well. I can't upgrade the board/memory, because I don't have much money to spend.
I figure if I got a 2.8 I could run up to 166x 21= ~3495 mhz.
or a 3.06 to safely ~3400 range.
Should I just wait, when I have the cash and get a new generation chip, or should I see what I can do with what I have now?
Thanks
