I switched to the console last night and went to bed, it restarted like 3 times last night and my CPU temp was 52 instead of 49 like it is right now running the graphical. I guess I'm not stable enough to run the console. :( There went some nice WU time. Luckily I go to work today so I can start the part time folders and hopefully make up some lost time. Any suggetions, besides running at stock speeds? I am perfectly stable in Prime95 so I guess the Gromac core on the console is harder on the OC than Prime95.

Beta. I'm only OCed from 1733 to 1860 on this Palamino though. Oh well, I'll try the 3.24 console next.

I have an unlocked 1800 Pali which I am about to change the L10s for the higher multis on and I also have a 1700 AXDA1700DUT3C JIUHB 0312VPMW both with no boards to run them on. I want to get a Nforce2 board for the 1700 and something better than this soyo to run the 1800 watercooled. The soyo box is done as is. I am getting another setup for these other chips. I may stick the 1800 the soyo to see what it can do with higher multis. I need better ram to OC more so I am going to leave this Soyo with the PC2100 and get better ram for the other chips.

BTW is my 1700 an A or B? I haven't looked up how to ID them yet...

Your stepping is JIUHB 0312VPMW

It's a B if it was A I think the stepping would be JIUHA.

Whoa! Sweet $42 New Egg!!! I thought it was an A cause of the price! Now to figure out where to get all the parts for 2 more rigs!!

If your client crashes and you are stable running everything else, you can always remove the -forceasm flag. This will usually solve the problem but you'll fold a little slower as you could lose the SSE advantage.

However, I always support more boxen, w00r to newegg. :D

which console did you download, 3.24 or 3.25? the beta client (3.25) isnt as stable with an oc.

Well that is strange cause all my boxes are overclocked and using the beta 3.25 client . Hmmm I guess that means it isn't the client that makes it unstable. Try backing off your overclock a little. Some XP chips are still having problems with SSE. this is probably what you meant but just did not know what the cause was.

Well it's running right now with the 3.24 console so I'll check it at 5:30 on my lunch break and see how it's doing.

Didn't work. I installed the Beta Graphical one now. So I have now lost a day of folding on my main rig.

So that's what happened to you.

I was wondering why I was folding uncontested.

Too bad you can't run the text beta client overclocked.

I have two 1700 Bs (newegg 'DUT3C') 140/1540 & (excaliber 'DLT3C') 200/2000 that both seem to like the SSE mode overclocked. The main rig heats up a lot when running those gromacs with SSE (50c). Even the slightly overclocked rig runs mid 40s. I see an 8c increase between idle and 100% load.

My main rig is only running PC2100 ram so this hurts the clocking a bit. I plan on leaving this rig as is and starting a new one with the Tbred B, an Nforce2 and quiet air and also my cheapo watercooling rig with the unlocked, 13and up multi-modded Pally 1800 I have. Soon enough....

I'll have to try and pass you at least once before you run me over with your soon to be three processor folding farm

The next box is in the mail to me now, that's the 1Ghz, then I'll get the Tbred B up and running. :)

You'll love those T-Bs. On my Abit I can take a 1700 and take it past an XP3000 with decent cooling.
