X-Fi Elite Pro (the one with good quality DACs) and nice headphones for $79.99 after MIR. Hell of a deal. Only thing bad is that the headphones aren't surround. Would like to buy it, but resisting since I already have the Razer Barracuda AC-1 and HP-1.

Your razer is still ok, but damn!

In order of best x-fi cards, the Prelude Destroys everything by a mile, but the elite pro is a second place easily and runs for over $200 generally.

Well, these are apparently refurbs according to the reviews, and they're missing the external box.

They're X-Fi Elite Pro cards. The "retail" version includes an external box that connects to that annoying proprietary Creative not-a-standard-MIDI-port that has MIDI in/out, additional outputs and inputs, etc.

I don't see any mention of refurb

One of the reviews does in fact mention it. Why else would they be priced so low? They're Creative products :)

Its listed as new, and Newegg has a separate section for products that are refurbs. If they send you a refurb and you're purchasing new, you can send it back for a new one and have newegg foot the bill for shipping both ways because they sent you the wrong item.

And to expand on the last post, often people review items they purchased through the refurb section in the regular/main item's description page. these are not refurbs, they're probably clearing house of these because they're being discontinued.
