Critical Updates

I have a friend who installed a fresh copy of XP but since he has dial-up it'll take forever for him to download all the critical updates and install them before using his comp without getting infected.

Since I have DSL I was wondering is there an all-in-one exe/patch so I can download put it on CD and just install it on his? The recommended updates would be nice too but for now I'm just looking for the critical.

Download them, burn them to cd, and then install on the computer that needs them.

If your mate wants to take the time, he could also build an unattended XP CD, that slipstreams SP1 and all that into the install CD (can be done on DVD too).

I agree, slipstreaming is the way to go. You can slipstream Office as well if that's on his menu.
