Warez, Crackz, and Copyrighted material

This is to clarify the position of this site regarding Warez information and warez sites, Crackz and information about crackz, and the posting and downloading of copyrighted material.

Overclockers prohibits the promotion of, and reference to, any program or website which contains or distributes Warez, Crackz, and pirated copyrighted material, including but not limited to music and video.

Discussion of Warez, crackz, and pirated copyrighted material is not permitted in this forum. Any offer to provide or request to receive warez, crackz, and bootleg material will be deleted without notice and the offender will be warned. A repeat offense is grounds for permanent dismissal, without recourse, from these forums.

This is a serious issue for this Forum. Allowing discussion of and, by extension condoning the distribution of, said information jeopardizes the very existence of this Forum. As such, it will not be tolerated. For the long-term future of this site, please abide by this rule.

Thanks,

Typically, it's one CD, one system. If you have one CD, you can only run it on one system.

That wont always do it :(. one of my friends brought his computer over to my house like a year ago (he didnt have any games then) and i installed some on his computer so we could play and i made him uninstall them before he left. Later he went out and bought halflife and he put it on his computer but when he played online i couldnt play cuz of my cd key was in use. it turned out some of the registry entries were left over and one of them being the cd key.

That's true, Big Red. If you do a search through your registry for Half-Life and/or Sierra, you should be able to find those entries, and wipe them out after you uninstall, and before you reinstall. My roommates were dealing with the same thing, and that's how we fixed it.

Both the retail CS and HL use the same CD keys for playing online. You can play a LAN game with the same CD keys, but not online. And, yes, a CS retail key will work on a HL version of CS.

With the cheap price of HL these days, why not just get another copy?

Also, I have found that if you do an uninstall via the control panel in windows, it works well for removing the CD key from the system.

Hope this helps.
