Does anybody experience high CPU temperature with this board? Asus Probe and MBM both show CPU@Idle=36 deg. cel and CPU@fullload = 50 deg. cel. I used to run my CPU and OCed it to the same speed on a Abit VH6 board and CPU@Idle = 28 deg. cel and CPU@fullload = 41 deg. cel. Also, I notice all voltages keeps changing, especially vcore, ususally .05 increase? What the heck is going on here??

CUSL2-C, Bios. 1003
P3-800E@124FSB, 992Mhz @1.8v
CPU@Idle=36C, CPU@Max=50C
GlobalWin FOP38, Artic Silver Thermal Comp.
Adaptec 39160, SeagateU160-18gb

Sylor, try updating to 1005 Beta 7 bios. I've been running it for a week, it is very stable and fast. At idle, my CPU temp is 1C lower than my ambient temp (dunno how that's possible) and at max load I get 41C. This is a 700E @ 933MHz. Tell me if the new bios helps any.

I noticed High temp's as well when my old 6BA+III died and I got a CUSL2-C to replace it.... the average was 10-15 degrees higher ....so I switched out that board with one my mother was buying for her new system.... she really didn't need the extra IDE ports, nor the complications of setting the Slotket..etc.... I am now back down to around 35 under full load on the +100...

Now if I can get off my *** and finish putting in the other 4 drives I have set up in JOBD on my modded promise controller.... I doubt it will work...but hey..if you can..why NOT go 12 IDE devices!!!

Where do i get the beta bios? Try to look at asus website but could not find it. By the way, what is your cpu temp at idle again?

Im also havin the same prob , im running me 733 at 907 with a voltage of 1.7 and gettin temps of 34 and 54 under pressure . Im only using a STD 5000rpm fan and heatsink ( got me copper ordered though )

Sylor, sorry i forgot to mention it, goto:
http://www.cusl2.com .. If your an owner of this motherboard, this is the site for you. I've heard that certain bios revisions gave bad temperature readings, although I've had good readings using the 1003 Final and all of the 1005 Beta's.

Also, it seems Intel has released version 2.80.08 of their i815E drivers. I haven't tried them yet, probably will later today. If you haven't installed these drivers, you need to do so!! They can be found on the cusl2 website as well.

I got the same thing going. No matter what my FSB or core voltage settign are it reads 36 celcious idle and 50 celcious working. i also had problems getting acurate readings from my old ASUS P3B-F.

Well, I just got a email reply from Asus support saying that cpu running under 60C temp. is safe. You will have problem if it is higher 60. They didnot say why cpu temp. got higher on their board.

Duh, that's the theory of cooling things..
Dispose enuf heat from the proc to the surroundings and you might hit -273 Celsius/ 0 K (with the proper equipment, hehe)
Ever noticed that in the fridge, temp. is lower than ambient temp.?

Cyclops, you must not be understanding me. I'm not supercooling my processor at this time. I am using a normal heatsink + fan. Unless I have a crap load of evaporation happening, I see it impossible for the CPU's thermal probe to be cooler than my cases ambient temperature.
