im trying to find out what my best OC results would be with a 1.8A or 2.0A on a ASUS P4B533-E or the P4T533. Im not sure which would OC better... DDR400 or RDRAM. Im confused because i thought that a DDR400 solution is better for OC. Anyway, when it comes to ram money is no object. If RD is the way to go then thats wut i get. Please help me understand wjat a better solution is for the best OC.

I've removed this from your sig.......please shorten it a bit or just reformat it. We also don't allow bypassing the profanity filters....take that in to consideration when you DO change your sig.

why not get PC1066 RDRAM as that is the fastest RDRAM you can buy...
and P4's run thier fastest with RDRAM...
DDR400 is close, but i do belive RDRAM is still faster than DDR, and will be untill dual chanel DDR comes out

One word of advise, you are going to have to shorten your SIG, as it is far too long. Sig may be a max size of 10 lines, see here for more info on SIG lengths

U have to think carefully on this one about your FSB's and mem dividers as often DDR is better from an overclocking point of view, although I am enjoying my first RIMM4200 rig.....

the p4t533 does not use pc800 memory.:( but, like jay said, RDRAM is better for the p4, and that mem cant even keep up with the chip.:(

It certainly does, but the optimal choice in terms is PC1066, which it also runs. =)

Acctually the 3200 chips are PC800.

I'd sugest PC2700 DDR. But thats just me and I don't know if the board suports it.

PC2700 is also known as DDR333... the OP was shooting for DDR400 aka PC3200, which is not an official spec by the way.

I went the DDR400 route, but I probably should have gone RAMBus. DDR400 is as much a crapshoot as Overclocking your PIV, and to get DDR400 most boards are going to force you to overclock.

I just had such a horrid reaction to RamBUS's heavy handed, illegal, low class, lying, cheating, stab them in the back when they arn't looking just to make a profit tactics, that I couldn't get my self to buy RIMMS.

(Please I don't want to start a RamBUS/JEDEC disclosure war)

But, if you check the MadOnion 3dmark scores, the best ones are almost exclusivly PIV and RAMBus

I do get a decent 3dMark2001se score of about 12540 (they wont let me post with my QUADRO!!!! the [expletive deleted]s)

But others do much better.
