I found a ddr bord (socket a) and a 128 mb ddr dimm for about $230 for eatch!

update: found a bord for $149 and 128 pc1600 for $183
 
that isn't to bad. I got the HSDRAM 150mhz ram of that price. And one can still find a A7V for $150.

also, mushkin is selling PC2100 DDR ram now (266mhz) and it is cheaper than the one u post.

and we all know mushkin isn't cheap :)
 
Give it a little time (a month or so), both the DDR motherboard & memory will be more reasonably priced. It takes time for manufacturers to ramp up the productions, and as more choices/ competitions appears in the market place; prices will drop. Prices are high, if you want to be the first one on the block to have the latest technology.
