Hi everybody!

I've finally enter the 21th century and buyed a new computer. There's a AthlonII x2 250 based model on a m4a785td-v evo MB. And i'm also a proud owner of a ati radeon hd 5850

My problems comes with the Memory module...

I need some DDR3 first of all! Considering my CPU, how many hertz should I get? 1333 or 1600? I'll overclock for sure! 1600 sound cool but in fact, will it be noticable or even useful (is it for intel i5 and i7 computer anyway?)

Secondo: How many Ram I really need? I game, usually. I'm not a big player but I love to play in hi def.

Do 4Gb of Ram will be enough? or I need more? I got to stick with the dual channel too, cause my board is made for this

Thanks for your reply!

thanks for the fast reply!

Just to be sure, I will play game like COD modern Warfare 2 and other recent game like that. 4 GB is enough?

And it seem that the only 7-7-7-20's timed memory out there are the OCZ gold, witch I dont trust at all, and the corsair Dominator wich at 178.99 is fairly overprice for me.

I'm in a shoestring budget but let's say a silvershoestring! :p

OCZ is fine, but any 7-7-7 should do. Those Corsair Dom GT sticks are way overkill for your purposes.

Where are you shopping for RAM? Are you in the US? G.Skill Ripjaws are always a good choice, I couldn't be happier with mine. Mushkin is also a good choice.

You can get some 8-8-8 stuff, but the price isn't much better ($10 or so) so I don't see a reason to. Same with the 1333 kits, I don't see the small price break outweighing lower (guaranteed) performance.
