I just got a new cel 733 and Asus cusl2-c mb. From what I hear it's a great set up. Well it was running fine until I ran sisoft Sandra. I start hearing the warning speaker beep. ok I look at pc probe and my case and cpu fan are past there threshold. Then as soon as I look at pc probe it is over. So I think maybe it's just Sandra that is interrupting with the info being transferred to pc probe. It happens once again when I start Sandra but does not stop so I reboot the computer no problem at all. Later I'm going to see how it runs a game. I start up the quake 3 team arena demo and I start to get the warning beeps again so I close quake and look at pc probe. Then it goes to the cpu monitor screen and shows that the cpu just hit 185 F. So I say holy #$%* and turn it off. Has anyone had this problem before. Both the case and cpu fan do this at the same time. I do not want to kill my new mobo and processor

Check your H/S fan installation to make sure it is installed properly with a small dab of thermal compound or whatever thermal substance comes with the heatsink. Some H/S fans come with paper covering the pre-applied thermal substance which must be removed prior to installation. Other than that, the Asus probe is a known POS that gives all kinds of erroneous readings.
