This is about the 10th time this issue has come up and I'm starting to think it is something other than the power supply.

Earlier today my computer stopped putting out display, the monitor randomly went black. Checked the graphics card. That is not the issue.

Basically when I power up now the entire thing gets surges of power, turns on, goes down... turns on.. goes dead.. I have replaced the power supply before with this issue and it fixed it, but I'm not going to wait for an RMA this time. Before I go out and bust 100 bucks on a power supply from frys I'd like a little input.

Tell me what you guys think please >_<.
Same specs as in my sig.
Thanks.

Are the temps listed in your sig still accurate? It sounds like it might be overheating. Did you notice if the monitor's power light stayed lit (or went to power saving mode) when the computer shut off?

It went into power saving mode. I don't think it is overheating, it has been shut off and disconnected from the power for about 2 hours now. The fans are/we're working when I had this issue. When it first happened the power stayed on, my PC was running but the monitor was in power save mode, which lead me to believe it was my graphics card dying again. But I tried another graphics card and it did the same thing for a few minutes until something sounded like it shorted out and now I have the surge issue... which makes me really think it is the power supply again, but not completely sure.

I'm going to a friends now to pick up a spare power supply to check it out.
Your input is still appreciated :D.
Thanks again.

(Yes the temps are still accurate, I have that crappy MSI Core Center still running and it was at 36C while I was playing World of Warcraft when the monitor shut off.)

Now I'm really effin confused. I got a spare 300W Power supply from my friends (Yes I know I need at least 350W). I hooked it up to the Mobo, my main Harddrive with windows, the graphics card, and the fans. The power supply and my PC turned on for about 5 whole seconds giving me hope it was the power supply, then suddenly the whole thing went down and now there is no power whatsoever going though the system. Good game, I'm so freaking lost now what the problem is. >_<

Try removing all cards except video, all but one stick of ram, disconnect all drives and boot to bios. Check your bios voltages and temperatures. If anything is out of spec, then you know that you have narrowed it down to psu, mobo, video card, and one stick of ram.

I'll try that, the only card I have in there is the graphics card and I know that is good because it works in another computer. I'll try to single out the RAM, I think my mobo may be dead because the system gets no power from either supply now. I may just give up and go out and just throw an entire new machine together, I would like PCI-Express but I'm kinda short on cash at the moment =P.

I'm beginning to be convinced it's the mobo... since my system gets no power at all from either supply now.

Can't boot, no lights, no more surges, nothing. /whine

Before you buy any more parts, go over the mobo really good and make sure its not contacting anything that may be causing a short, and simply interupting power flow. Also, since you said you heard something that sounded like a short, you may want to look around to see if there's any burn marks on the board.
