ok so i just installed the new BIOS from asus for my asus maximus 4 Extreme Z

Called asus, the guy was an idiot, said it was my memory. memory is running fine, no problems at all. swutched them to 2 different slots, still running at full. no problems.

i have no errors, everything is running fine, i just noticed it says A0 which i looked up, says IDE initialization started.

any ideas?

Found out its not a problem with any of my hardware at all.

Asus came out with the 3103 bios update that enabled the use of 22nm processors (ivy bridge)

evidently its something in the bios that is causing the A0 issue. so if you have that code after updating to the new bios, Clear your CMOS and install 1004 bios

Help!!!

I got the same issue as you, however I dont know how to back out of my BISO update. Coud help with this issue?

I have the P8Z68 Deluxe/Gen3 mobo.

Updated to the new 3202 bios, and I have the same Debug view “AO”.Not sure if there is a problem with this, but it seems to be working good....

ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe Gen 3

Working

My computer is working as well, but not able to auto overclock. Not to big of a deal now but might be to others.

Is there anything els wrong with your computer?

HI everyone i Just joined these forums in my search for an answer

I also have Postcode AO on my Asus P8Z68 Mobo after updating the bios to 3202, eveything seems to work ok but if anyone finds out if this is anything to worry about or how to correct it,

I reset the cmos and tried to take the bios back to older bios but wont let me.

Good Morning! Newbie to the forum here..

I do have a Maximus IV Gene-Z/Gen3 mobo, I recently updated it to bios 3203 version,

after the successful update.. I noticed my Vcore went high at 1.48v!

noticed also my RAM went from 16Gb to 15.9Gb usable

and the debug code from AA to A0 now.. :(

its a problem with the bios, you have to clear cmos, then reinstall the old bios.

Edit: i see the new bios they have, 3203, im not updating until im sure its stable. that A0 crap is annoying, and asus doesnt know anything about it either, theyll say its a problem with your memory.

How do we install the old bios as the updater won't let you install older bios.

yes it should.

the bios should have the eazy flash utility.

Clear cmos, make sure that your usb only has the bios you wish to install on it. if you have both on there, im fairly sure it wont allow you to put the bios on.

pick 1004

be happy

this has nothing to do with your memory and there is nothing wrong with your hardware, this debug code A0 comes up when you have your bios set to IDE or is set to RAID
