Deleting files

ok i have two files that i can't get rid of. They always tell me that they are being used by a program even if i just started up. So how do i get rid of them? i heard that i could go to the dos prompt and do it from there. So what commands do i use to change drives and also what command deletes?

to cange drives you just put


X:\ X being what drive you want to go to anddddd

to delete

X:\whatever path\erase filename

It won't work in safe mode?

you can boot to safe mode with command prompt

should be one of the options

ive had this problem to with a file i downloaded i cant remeber how i fixed it thoguh

has soemthing to do with permissions

try going to the task bar and killing as manny prosses as you can mabey soemthing is useing it

w00t got it. surfed to it then hit erase\"filename" woked like a charm
