I have an dell Inspiron 8100 laptop I want to put a 8200 Mobo and P4 Cpu in. I know that the 8200 mobo will fit in the 8100 casing. The 8200 were said to run hot. I want to know if anyone has ever added a fan to a laptop on the bottom of system or if it is possible?

Think in this term here http://www.vantec.com.tw/_en/01_product/03_detail_02photo.php?mainid=1&fid=12&sid=102&id=119

The Inspiron Laptop are multimedia Pc so the are made of plastic to be durable they are very good.

wow allmost let this fall off of the front page...

Yes I've made my own custom cooling pad for overclocking laptops (it uses an 80mm tornado fan)

I remember owning an Insprion 8600 (pentium-m), It was a very reliable laptop and has gone through 2 other owners besides myself and still works today... However I Should reccomend against getting any p4 based laptop. Cooling pads are nice but the fans are often too weak to cure poorly manufactured cooling solutions. (I've tested 3 myself about 2 years ago) Having an xtra cooling pad to carry around cuts down on mobility and you can never truly go wireless with one of those, you have to plug em in to work (or if they run off of usb power the fans are very often too weak and drain your laptop's power).

My reccomendation wold be to seek out a non p4 based solution (such as pentium-m.) however if mobility is of no concern I guess it woulden't hurt to try it out...

you should get a whole unit and sell me the display ^^;;; I have an 8100 and i killed the screen trying to make a projector panel out of it.
