Hi,
I own the above system - (Dell XPS-T800) and as far as I know it has an intel motherboard which cannot be overclocked. However - I was told that I can increase the FSB using the SoftFSB. The problem is that when you run this utility it asks for the type of motherboard - which I have no idead which one.
I would appreciate if someone knows which one this system has .
Thanks in advance,
Itya

As far as i know your clock generator must be supported for softfsb to work, you may have a BX chipset maybe not the best thing to do is to go to www.tweakfiles.com and download Sisandra and when you run it it will tell you what kind of MB you have and this may help to get you going.

goodluck

If you take your Dell service tag to support.dell.com it should have a place where you can enter the tag and get your specs. I do not remember if it is in the area that you need a password for or not. If you have trouble post the tag and I will look it up. Most Dell motherboards are propriatary, they are made by others, but to Dell specs, so I would not be hopefull.
Michael Dell flat out said that Dells will not run anything but Intel processors until hell freezes over.

guys thanks for the help and and the advice!
I run Sandra - and here are the details:
The MB - SE440BX-3
CPU clock generator - PLL-IC-W0

However - I can't find both of them as an option in SofFSB - do you know what is the equivalent MB or clock that SoftFSB has and that I can use?
Thanks,
Itay

I need help here with something...
so I run the Sis Sandra utility and I discover that the AGP port runs only on 2x - eventhough I have GeForce3 supporting 4X. I used the NVMax and changed from 4X to 2X - and indeed it remained 2X in the Sandra also 3DMark2001 - showed equal benchmark for 2X and for 4X - indicating that it did not make any diff.
How the heck do I set it to 4X - I have no option in the CMOS - I assume this board (SE440BX-3) is supposed to have 4X AGP....
Thanks,
Itay
