I was just wondering if it's OK to hook up a Western Digital H/D to a brand new Dell PC?
What I'm looking at is, I pulled out the WD hard drive from an old PC and I wanted to hook it up with the new Dell, but discovered that they don't have a second IDE cable hook up for a second hard drive. There is a power hook up but only 1 IDE cable coming from the mobo to the Dell hard drive.

Are all IDE cables the same?Could I use the dual ones from the old PC or will I get conflicts of some sort cause it's not Dell stuff?

Any help would be great.
Cheers

I cannot see a reason why you couldent slap another drive in there. Look in the BIOS and see if it has a place for more drives.
