Desperate Help Needed

ok i am going insane. I have a 2100+ with a ti4400 on an a7n8x motherboard. When i play alot of games, they sometime randomly wither freeze or dissapear and jsut show me a black screen with no sound (both causing a complete system lockup). At first i thought it may be a cpu heat issue, but i quickly ruled that out. Next i tried reinstalling my vid card drivers. this didnt work either. i then tried underclokcing my vid card and put a giant room fan on it. still had the same problems. there are a bunch of wierd factors that go in with this problem too. For example i have no problems with the following games:

Soldier of Fortune 2
Half Life
Unreal Tournament 2003

But i do get the loclup with these games:
Max Payne
Max Payne 2
Tiger Woods 2003 and 2004
CnC Generals


Anotehr odd thing is that with both max payne 1 and 2 if i turn off hardware T and L it works fine. i am so confused and desperate! I WANT MY TIGER WOODS!

perhaps you've only having a problem with openGL vs direct 3d rendering...

I don't remember which run any of those games, but it may be benificial to update drivers.

Ut2003 and C&C Generals are both D3d not opengl.

Check your ram, I've had similar problems with bad ram. Maybe your power supply too. What voltage are your rails?

im not 100% sure what you mean by "what are your voltages" but asus probe reads 12.6 - 4.9 - 3.28 - and 1.78 for vcore. I think the problem tends to happen mroe at night then during the day so i am looping 3dmark all day and going to try playing at night. I used Driver Cleaner 3 to make sure i got rid of anything form old drivers and then go the newest ones on the nvidia website. do you know any good memory testers?

That 12.6V seems insanely high for a 12V rail, does it not?

and that 3.28 is you 5v rail, that is too low....ever think it is your videocard overheating? is it OCed?

that looks like his 3v rail....
4.9 looks like his 5v rail.

voltage rails look normal to very nice to me.
but are they your idle rails?

we need full load rails on your 5v and 3v

they all stay about the same except the 12v gets close to 12.9

maybe that 12.9 was an isolated incident. i cant seem to hit it again. the 5v seems to go to about 4.8

sigh ok i am completly lost again. i had my computer off for about 10 hours. I started up and went into tiger woods. The thing crashed or whatever the hell it does about 10 seconds into a match. I have tried underclocking both my processor and vga, but i get the same results. could it be my hardware itself is malnfunctioning?

It could be ram? I know I could run windows fine for a long time, but anytime I tried a really ram heavy application the system would crash. Well it turned out that the ram had an error on it so once it tried to be read it crashed.

I would just run something like memtest just to make sure

ok...i remembered i hadnt cleaned my vga's heatsink in, oh, about 1 and a half years. so i took it out, watered it down, clean! everything works great...EXCEPT i jsut got a message after 2 hours of tiger woods (longest streak without a mess up). The message i got was Windows has shutdown to avoid damage to your computer. i have seen this before but it was usualy followed by numbers and such to show what was messed up. it didnt show any of that, so i assume it is jsut my memory. does that sound aobut right?
