To Whom It May Concern:

Yesterday I attempted to visit the DFI Street Forums for some help regarding my DFI LanParty Ultra-D motherboard. I was greeted by a message on the screen informing me that DFI had dropped funding of DFI Street Forums. I cannot understand why DFI would do this. DFI Street was the one great thing DFI had over it's competition, now DFI customers are left not knowing what to do when they have issues with their products. I can assure anyone at DFI that if DFI Street isn't reinstated I won't recommend DFI products anymore as I had once done, and I won't continue to purchase them myself.

Sincerely,
Nathan Chaney
Concerned DFI Customer

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your E-mail. First of all, www.dfi-street.com is owned by Mr. Travis Hill (Angry_Game). We paid him as a contractor to support our customers on his forum.

As a DFI employee (contractor), he shouldn’t post negative comment for DFI new product not even launches. It would be appreciated if he could send this message to me instead of posting to public. We would improve our product by his suggestion. We provided all kind of testing equipment, M/Bs and paid him for years. He is not a regular consumer. He is straight but not smart in this case. We are also getting in trouble since Travis telling all members to E-mail us. Our mail box got jammed up. We are in loss-loss situation.

A new forum will be ready in a couple of days. Rgone is still working with us. He will be the chief moderator in the new forum

As you can see in his reply he says that Rgone one of the management members from DFI Street will be the head guy over at the new forum so maybe thats something thats good. Please keep posting your thoughts on this matter guys.

very interesting story. i hate when relationships end like that. I'm glad there's another DFI forum with Rgone has chief moderator though

Somebody being payed by a company would not be considered as an objective source for information on the companies product. I don't know what the agreement between them has been, but it seems the company and the guy have had opposing views :)

Maby the company has considered him as a sort of an employee, and he has considered he is selling support to the company. Either way I would consider twice before giving any review of any product made by somebody paying me salary.

What does everyone think of a boycott of whatever new forum dfi makes?

I for will not boycott the new forum. Hopefully it is a big success without the shortcomings of its previous avatar. I wish they can have Thunda on board as a mod though. Thunda is an excellent fellow, kind, courteous and always willing to help.
